Our Initial thoughts of what to base our Thriller opening is the idea of a drug indulged opening revolving around a pill which changes aspects of a persons personality. We feel that with this idea mixed in with filming in a disused mental asylum, however due to issues with permission to film and gain assess to the premises we now think that incorporating this into the initial drug Thriller would not work. The film that we have based our ideas on is limitless, this is a modern take on a drug fueled adventure, we feel that with our target audience in mind this will make an interesting and tense eerie feel and therefore make them want to continue watching. We have recently found a local burnt down barn with disused vehicles in a local place that will make a good setting to it. We think that this setting will create a feel of isolation and insanity, it also links to the idea that he is alone, this idea was inspired by watching 28 days later. We feel that the used of the isolation feeling with incise our audience to continue viewing. This location will create an original story, because the previous idea we had come up with were based on the film Limitless and urban locations. Using an urban local like London and Brentwood would be hard to film in because the population and stream of people there, it would make the short film look unrealistic. Also if filming in a location like this there are legal formalities that could restrict us and also making the Thriller look unrealistic and also get us into trouble.
Near this setting there is a Forrest and a lot of farm land, although students in previous years have used the Forrest idea, we believe that using all of the aspects in our location like the burnt down barn, the disused vehicles and the farm land and Forrest using these in equally quantity and quality will give our Thriller a new and innovative edge because it is incorporating the ideas.
